Introduction Ocean

The OCEAN flat strip for gaskets is made up of 100% pure PTFE material transformed into a fibrous molecular structure thanks to a particular process. The result is a product featuring a particular combination of properties:

  • High plastic deformability with reduced cold creep; ideal even for solving complex sealing applications on any type of surface in a short time. In fact, the pressure applied transforms OCEAN into a thin tape filling all microcavities eventually available in the seats of seals. (See table.)
  • It withstands all chemicals except for some fluorinated compounds and molten alkali metals.
  • Does not contaminate the media with which it comes into contact; it does not release colour particles and is non-toxic.
  • Our exclusive engineering service has allowed us to offer tailor-made solutions for customer specific applications, also providing the OCEAN flat strip in densities and sizes different from those in the catalogue.
  • Making a seal from the OCEAN flat strip is an extremely simple task. The adhesive side of the strip has a protective band. To apply the strip it is sufficient to remove this protection and press the strip against the surface to be sealed. Then the two ends of the strip are joined one on the top of the other, or in alternative, cut diagonally and joined head-to-head if the tightening pressure is low. A standard flat gasket is the result.

Ocean Sheets

ePTFE-BlAX - Gasket Sheets consist of virginal, expanded PTFE. By the manufacturing process, a multidirectional fibrous texture is produced which gives the gasket sheets their very special properties, The materials especially show very low compression rates and low increase in width even under extreme conditions. Because of its multidirectional fibrous texture, ePTFE-BlAX - Gasket Sheets show very good material characteristics at high surface pressures and increasing temperatures. Even under extreme operating conditions there are very low changes in width and in height, compared to other PTFE materials. By using gaskets made of ePTFE-BlAX - SHEETS high surface pressures will be maintained also at high temperatures.

ePTFE-BlAX - Gasket Sheets is especially designed for highest safety requirements and for the application in critical joints such as flanges in oxygen pipelines.

For various applications the ePTFE-BlAX - Gasket Sheets are available in diverse dimensions, heights and densities.
